PETER BODLAENDER WORK FOR SALE: " ... its hour come round at last ..."
W.B. Yeats $450* Peter's sculptural life restarted after he uncovered a bag of clay in his backyard; clay he had brought back from a bayou in Mississippi to his home in California 20 years ago. This finding reconnected him with his original inspiration, Paulus Berensohn," Finding One's Way With Clay". The rich, red, organic clay was ideal for creating the free form pinched bowls he was so passionate about. Thus begun the journey to finding his own artistic path. Mr. Bodlaenders' work flows with sensual lines and open areas, allowing for passages of light into and/or through internal spaces.Using stone polishing techniques to achieve a desired contrast of textures and color give an additional richness to Peter's sculptures. For Peter, the challenge is to maintain and nurture a connection between inner self and artistic expression while keeping in check the ever nagging hiatus of uncertainty. His works reflect the uncertain nature of our life's journey in a richly tactile way. The sculptures are a pleasure in themselves to touch. |

MARK YALE HARRIS WORK FOR SALE: Secrets $450* Born in Buffalo, New York, Mark Harris was the cofounder of the chain of hotels, The Red Roof Inn. Beginning in 1996, he studied with Doug Hyde, Bill Prokopiof, James Surls, Lincoln Fox, and John Forno, all great sculptors in their own right. Mr. Harris used the invaluable experience of these artists' mentorship, along with his own vision, to create an evolving body of work in alabaster, marble, limestone, and bronze. He is proud to share successful relationships with over eighteen galleries nationwide. Furthermore, Mr. Harris' work is included in dozens of private and public collections internationally. The purpose of his artwork is to create symbols of universal connection- to each other and to nature. His ability to create beauty comes from interpreting gesture, form, energy, pleasure and pain. His work is a visual algorithm alternating equally between gesture and geometric form. |

From that time on, she has never looked back. Her subjects include still lifes and landscapes, as well as portraits. Her oil paintings all have a vibrant sense of energy and spontaneity. Each painting reminds the viewer of the romance of far-away places. |

POPPY CANNON-REESE WORK FOR SALE:Boys NOT FOR SALE Poppy works in oil on canvas and gouache on paper, creating compelling pictoral environments of lush foliage with disconnected figures. Her artistic philosophy expresses our inability to connect with and enjoy the beauty that surrounds us, both personally and environmentally. Her figures are blinded my their inability to interact and obscured from their surroundings, forcing them to search inwardly for their own personal direction. With these paintings, she hopes to communicate the potential of being protected and nurtured within ourselves as well as to connect the viewer with the majesty and beauty of natural landscapes. |
